Alfredo Lucendo will hand-over the EUREOS Presidency
During the general assembly on October 5, 2025, Alfredo Lucendo will hand-over the EUREOS Presidency to Ulrike von Arnim. Alfredo took over the presidency four years ago and promoted the advancement of our young society together with a dedicated steering committee, an increasing number of members and corporate partners.
During Alfredo’s presidency, EUREOS played a significant role in achieving three key milestones that reflect the collaborative spirit of our members and the vital support of our corporate partners:
- European EoE Day: This important public awareness initiative was initiated by national patient organizations in 2022 and was supported by EUREOS from the beginning. In 2025, EUREOS co-organized the first World EoE Day.
- EUREOS Library: The online education platform offers free and CME accredited content. EUREOS has produced and published several training courses with renowned clinical and research experts aimed for professionals from different disciplines.
- EoE CONNECT: This initiative has brought together hundreds of clinicians from dozens of hospitals to create the largest clinical research network focused on EoE – it is no doubt the greatest achievement in collaborative research within our organization so far. The registry is recognized as an essential resource for EoE knowledge production to address future challenges; it was made possible through the generosity of our patients and the altruistic efforts of all contributors.
We thank Alfredo for his dedication during his presidency and look forward to his continued contributions as a member of the steering committee.
