How has the diagnosis of eosinophilic esophagitis changed over the past 30 years? A new study from the European EoE CONNECT registry, based on more than 3,000 patients, shows clear progress: doctors are taking biopsies more consistently and from the right places, endoscopic findings are reported in a more standardized way, and patients wait considerably less time for a diagnosis. The study also reveals which biopsy sites are most reliable for detecting the disease, and why this matters especially for children.
